Overview of SAP C4C Tenant

 Overview of SAP C4C Tenant

An SAP C4C Tenant is a dedicated instance of the SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) system that is created for a specific customer or organization. It is a separate and independent environment that contains all the data and configuration settings for a customer's SAP C4C implementation. Each SAP C4C Tenant is isolated from other tenants, ensuring that customer data and processes remain secure and confidential. SAP C4C Tenants are typically hosted in the cloud and managed by SAP.

Customers can access their SAP C4C tenants through a web browser or mobile app, using their login credentials to securely access their data and business processes.

Characteristics of SAP C4C Tenant

Here are some of the key characteristics of SAP C4C Tenant along with an example:

Dedicated instance: SAP C4C Tenant is a dedicated instance of the SAP Cloud for Customer system that is created for a specific customer or organization. For example, a retail company may have its own dedicated SAP C4C Tenant to manage its customer service operations.

Independent environment: Each SAP C4C Tenant is an independent environment with its own data, configuration settings, and customizations, isolated from other tenants. For example, two different retail companies may use SAP C4C, but their SAP C4C Tenants are completely separate and do not share any data or configurations.

Secure: SAP C4C Tenant ensures that customer data and processes remain secure and confidential through strict security and data protection measures. For example, SAP C4C Tenant can implement two-factor authentication and role-based access controls to prevent unauthorized access.

Scalable: SAP C4C Tenant is designed to be scalable, meaning that it can easily adapt to changing business needs, such as adding new users or customizations. For example, a company may need to add more customer service representatives to its SAP C4C Tenant to handle an increase in customer inquiries.

Flexible: SAP C4C Tenant is highly flexible, allowing customers to customize the system to meet their specific business requirements. For example, a company may need to create custom fields in SAP C4C to capture unique customer data.

Accessible: SAP C4C Tenant can be accessed from anywhere, at any time, through a web browser or mobile app, making it easy for users to stay connected and productive. For example, a customer service representative can access SAP C4C Tenant from a mobile device while on the go.

Easy to manage: SAP C4C Tenant is easy to manage, with tools and features that enable customers to monitor and control their system environment, including user access and permissions, system backups, and more. For example, a company can use the SAP C4C Admin Center to manage user accounts and perform system backups.

Tenant Subscriptions

When Customer approaches SAP for C4C subscription, as standard SAP will provide two tenant:
  • Test tenant
  • Production tenant

Production Tenant: This is the live environment where the actual business operations take place. In a Production Tenant, the company's real customer data is stored, and all transactions and operations are performed in this environment. It is the main environment that is used to run the business processes, and any changes made in this environment can have a direct impact on the company's operations.

Test Tenant: This is a non-production environment used for testing and development purposes. It is a replica of the Production Tenant and contains a copy of the company's customer data. In a Test Tenant, users can test new features and functionalities, perform system maintenance, and experiment with new configurations without affecting the live environment. Any changes made in the Test Tenant do not have an impact on the Production Tenant, allowing users to test and experiment without any risk to the live environment.
